Hello friend,
Long time, no blog? I cannot believe we are in 2022! WILD! Whether it’s the holiday season or you want to get a gift for a special someone, here’s a simple gift guide to help you find some awesome eco-friendly gifts!
Today I’ll be running through eco-friendly gift ideas that aren’t tangible products! Let’s get into it!
Now this one is perfect for any of you last minute shoppers out there. There are SO MANY experiences to choose from that will be well within your budget, whatever that may be! Whether you are looking for something budget-friendly or affordable, the options are close to limitless.
Looking to splurge a little? How about a fun vacation seeing somewhere new or ticking off a bucket list location? A ticket or a trip to a theme park? Disneyland anyone?!?! (Personally, I’d love this one!).
Budget-friendly? How about you plan a trip to the beach, a road trip or a sweet picnic!
Experiences are memories that will last a lifetime and are one of my favorite eco-friendly gifts to give and receive.
Who doesn’t LOVE food? I love giving food and I love receiving food. And it’s a great eco-friendly gift that won’t be collecting dust in the back of your closet haha.
You really can’t go wrong with delicious treats of all sorts, we all have a favorite treat after all! Some great options could be beers, wine, freshly baked cookies and other delicious desserts.
Going back to the idea of giving experiences, why not combine them with food? Wine tasting can be a fun experience with your partner or friends. How about a cooking class, learning to make homemade pasta? Make a reservation to the restaurant you’ve always wanted to visit but haven’t made the time for.
You can make your own gifts! This one is always so much more personal and can be a lot of fun in the process. Let’s go back to my love of food….you can always bake delicious desserts and treats. Cookies! Brownies! You can even try to cook a 3 course dinner with their favorite cuisine.
If you aren’t a self-proclaimed Michelin chef in the kitchen, you can always try some creative options like knitting a scarf or making your own candles. I love receiving DIY gifts because you know so much time, love and care has gone into them.
We all have some kind of subscription these days. Whether it’s Netflix, Spotify, a metro pass, a gym membership or duolingo it could be a great gift! There are so many streaming services out there that people probably already use and you could renew it for them. Even better, you can gift them a service they’ve been wanting to try! Has your friend told you a few times this year they’ve wanted to get into reading but just don’t have the time? Audible. Did your cousin tell you their bucket list item is to visit every national park? Give them a start with a National Parks Pass! These are such great options for eco-friendly gifts!
Have you thought of stepping back and opting out of giving someone a gift at all? How about you look into giving back, a gift that keeps on giving? My sister once donated to an environmental organization a few years ago in my name. This was a thoughtful gift and meant a lot to me. There’s a good chance a lot of us have too many things to begin with and don’t need anymore physical products to create clutter. So giving back for someone as a gift is an awesome idea. You can offset someone’s carbon emissions, donate to an environment organization or volunteer together! We don’t need physical eco-friendly gifts anyways!
P.S. If you don’t know exactly what someone needs, wants or is going to use… I highly encourage you to select a gift from these 5 ideas! There’s a good chance they will enjoy these a bit more if you’re not 100% what they want or what they like.

Thanks for the ideas! Always a fan of gifting experiences and food…sometimes a combination of the two by taking them out to dinner or a gift card to a local (small) restaurant!
Glad you liked the ideas! Yes, it can definitely make a great combo!!
