There are so many great Black-owned sustainable businesses out there. Here is a little list with my top 10 that you NEED to check out (most of them are woman-owned as well!) Reel Paper sells 100% bamboo toilet paper. Not only are they sustainable, but they give back and donate some of their profits to help build toilets for those in need! They’re one of my favorite bamboo toilet paper companies!
Coconut wax hand poured candles are the way to GO! When you purchase a candle you’ll also be able to grow a garden! Yep, you read that right. The box the candles come in is wildflower seed paper!
Another great shop is BLK+Green. They’re an all natural market place with all Black artisans! You’ll find basically everything here from bath products, hair care, skin care, detergent….you name it!
Live Like You Green It is a zero waste and vegan body and skin care company you need in your life! Their lip balm and body butter (the smell is innnnnncredible!) are some of my favorite zero waste options! Seriously, I use their lip balm ALL THE TIME. And they’re vegan body butter is great for dry winter skin when you need something extra moisturizinng!
OUI is targeted towards sensitive skin and is super inclusive… so it’s a big thumbs up from me! They’re here to help reduce the fact that 2 billion plastic razors end up in landfill each year! On their website you’ll find safety razors, shaving cream and other body care products.
Zero Grocery is the FIRST online zero waste grocery store in the U.S. You can get your groceries delivered in under two hours in a sustainable and affordable fashion. Their mission is to “make shopping sustainably even more accessible and convenient than the alternative.”
Bohten is the place to get yourself a pair of glasses. I bought my blue light glasses from them and love them! Bohten strives to use as many discarded materials as possible. They are working towards having their full manufacturing process in Ghana in the next 5 years. So if you’re looking for glasses, definitely check them out!
Here you can find some lotions made from shea butter that come in a cute little tin! They also donate 15% of their profits to an education fund for their workers in Ghana!
Consciously Curly Co uses non-toxic and organic ingredients in their haircare! 90% of their product packaging is plastic free and they offer a refill service. Definitely worth trying if you’re looking for the perfect shampoo and conditioner!
They are an eco-friendly card company that also makes stationary, cards and journals! Everything is 100% recycled which is so cool! I bought Christmas cards last year and let me tell you… they are cute!
