So, let’s be honest. When I started learning more about environmental science and the environmental injustices in the world, it was very overwhelming. I first started learning about our climate crisis in depth during an environmental science class I took in college. I learned something new in EVERY.SINGLE.CLASS. So here’s a list on how to start living an eco-friendly life, so it’s not too daunting.

Please, register to vote! If you have the right and ability to vote, let your voice be heard. It’s an election year and it’s so important to vote for people who want climate action now.
Do as much research as you can about climate change. Get as educated on the subject as you can. Do your own research, read books, and watch documentaries.
In the sustainability and zero waste space, there are a lot of new trendy products that are constantly coming on the market. They are tempting to buy, but the best thing to do is reuse what you already have. You can also buy things second hand!
If you’re trying to reduce your waste or plastic consumption, look at your trash and recycling. What items are you throwing out every week? Are their more sustainably packaged or package free items you can get instead? Challenge yourself!
Yup, it’s as easy as that. Bring a trash bag with you on walks, hikes, etc. If you see trash not in a trash can, pick it up. 🙂
Just start! You don’t have to be perfect! You don’t have to know everything. This is a journey. We are all learning and growing. Do what you can for people and the planet!
